Beautiful car, now the DSG is really singing and bedded in, love it to bits.
Please excuse the Feckin brake dust!! has anyone found a solution for brake dust yet????
as for your wheels - there are a number of solutions, all of which i have used and will vouch for:
- sonax extreme wheel cleaner from autobarn - BEST product i've ever used, but you use quite a bit of it. seriously, this stuff will melt off 2 year old brake dust that no rag, brush, or even polishing compound would remove.
- poor boys spray & rinse wheel cleaner - not as hardcore as the sonax, but then, if you only give your wheels a spritz with this stuff once every few weeks, your wheels will never get baked on brake dust anyway - this stuff is great for more regular use.
- carpro ironX - almost like sonax, but not quite as strong. good for using after longer periods of not washing your car, where you start to notice little areas of brake dust baking on/ becoming more stubborn to remove.
all of the above are safe for different types of paints, however there IS the potential to get carried away and use a shedpile of product each time you do, so for that purpose i'd suggest getting a small 150-200ml spray bottle from a haircare product shop (or similar) and putting a little bit of product into that - the spray is finer, and you use less whilst still getting good product coverage.
also, have a spare 100ml bottle of water in your kit, so you can pop the sprayer off the wheel cleaner bottle, and spray a good few squirts of clean water through the nozzle before replacing on the wheel cleaner bottle.
both the ironX and the poor boys stuff came with spray triggers, and both those triggers died very quickly without having rinsed the nozzle internals clean, after use.

Couple of pics taken this year... Nice pair!
I have quiet since posting pics of my GTI that I picked up in January, business has been chaotic and time flies so fast these days.
I havent done a lot more to my car since the last shots except for fitting an APR/Carbonio intake, the exhaust will be goping on in the next couple of weeks hopefully, I am limited to driving it since the dog sheds fur constantly, so my Caddy cops all of that.
Therefore I have only done 2,400 kms in over 3 months of picking it up, damn enjoyable kms. tho!!
Here goes...
Later in January I took my very good friend to pick up her new Scirocco, she had a Mk5 GTI in immaculate condition and has been a customer of mine for over 17 years, in fact I used to work on her superbug as an apprentice in 1974!!
