Nice choice of car/colour fellow Canberran... Jamison shops by chance in the 2nd photo?

Hope you can make it on July 17 for a Canberra to Bathurst (rtn) run. Meet at 7am, D-ickson Shell/Maccas.

You don't happen to own a 205 GTi do you? Seen a local one around with number plate being "RA88IT".

        • Spent the afternoon at a Performance Driving course with DAL344 and a mate in his Mazda 3 MPS. Very enjoyable and a pretty wet day by the end of it. A nice variety of cars there, Porsche GT2, Lexus ISF, Falcon GE6 Turbo, WRX, Mazda 3 MPS to name a few.

With our unofficial timing both the Golf R's proved to be the fastest around the circuit, i'm sure aided by the damp conditions and our awd but many a comment was heard from some of the other drivers as to how quick our cars were.

A few pics taken of the day when the track was at it's driest. I do have heaps of video so will try and post some runs at some point.

Our R's with my mates MPS

I know its not a Mk6 Golf but the Porsche GT2:

                • Nice trio of cars there Prodigy. It's great seeing cars do what they were made to do.

I hope you get stuck into your MPS mate about those horrid chrome wheel arches.

LOL. i hadn't even noticed them myself, i have however corrected him regarding the colour of his car, he insists it's Blue but i tell him it's Purple.

He could be asian and therefore like it. It's a sign of a "luxurious car" in some countries. Chrome wheel arches are still standard on some cars in countries such as China. I think Mercedes started it in the 70's or something, and the rest of the world either didn't like it or left it there, but it's still around in some asian countries.

LOL, he is not Asian, he bought the car 2nd hand so i'm guessing the original owner put them on and he hasn't bothered to remove them.

                            • Fair enough.... maybe the person he bought it from was Asian

                              • The old owner probably sold the MPS to 'upgrade' to a Camry. Camry owners seem to go for that sort of thing...

Time for an intervention Prodigy. Friends don't let friends roll with chrome trim.
