Yeah - the outside looks alright as far as I'm concerned. I agree with the grill comment. But with that interior, I've obviously no idea what the quality of it is like since I haven't been in it. But I just don't like the design. The dash could be leather covered and all the silver bits machined from solid pieces of aluminium for all I care - I just think the design (and therefore look) is crap

But as I've said many times - eyes of the beholder.

Whilst I'm sure a lot of people do, I personally don't give a stuff what badge is on something. But it still doesn't change the fact the interior of that opel is crap. Sorry you can't accept that it's got nothing to do with the fact it's an opel.

Have you driven it, or are you just a badge snob?

No haven't driven this particular model but haven driven other Astra's and read many reviews of other astra performance models and it just doesn't compare to the beautiful car you own already.

And yes I'm a badge snob would prefer telling people I drive a GTI/R or my current ride (Cooper S) over an Astra anyday.

Top engine in the GTC at the moment is a 132kw/1.6L turbo. So its nearest competitor would be a Scirocco with the 1.4TSFI engine.

There is no guarantee that they will bring that here anytime soon. They would be more interested in a hot version of the 5 door hatch (SRi) to run against the Golf GTI.

That is what I have been saying all this while about the MkV's unstated interior vs the MkVIs (chrome accents on the vents and almost OTT cannon barrelled instrument binnacle - ala Datsun 120Y).
