    Also good when the f'ing Golf breaks down (the VW way) or I hit one of Sydney's potholes and it gobbles a tyre !

    My tarp hooks over the luggage hooks either side at the back and runs up the sides and back of the rear seats.

    Cargo area is like new.

      i used to use a tarp in my previous cars, but i soon learnt that it moves around too much, wheras a moulded oem mat doesnt move at all.
      i own food retail outlets across sydney. and i transport liquids etc as well as food stuffs. as u can imagine, a spill, although rare, does occur, as well as leakages. oils and the like dont go well with material/cloth. ive had canned and bottled drinks randomly burst in the car, so the mat helps a lot
      its a cheap insurance policy for me.

        Yep.. I used to have a towel down for that very reason.. I spend time getting stuff from the hardware store so dirt and other spills happen.. given the scuffed condition of the mat in mine I have no doubt it was the right thing to do..

        Also when I clean the car I wipdown all the inside of the rear door and water runs inside.. easy to mop up

          I have the overpriced $20 one (just so it fits the damn grit guard) and it comes with a lid Problem is the base of the bucket is usually still damp with some dirt on it after a wash. My wheel brushes still drip a little too!

          Oh, you can also put oily pizza boxes on top of the mat and not worry about the boot liner

          Haha!! My office is only 5mins walk from home And Garage Cafe is only 10mins drive with no traffic. How long do you take? HAHAHHA

          All my car care stuff are kept in cheapo $4 Ikea storage boxes.

                  You either need to change the date on your camera or find a more recent pic

                  • ok here is what i intend to do after 2 months of ownership to a 90TSI DSG golf (although I'm still a little concern about the DSG "flash of death" issue i had experienced twice in the first 1,250kms and it hasn't happened since and the car has done 2,500km now)

                    1. got myself a set of comfortline 16" for the balance between comfort and sport over the stock 15" wellington wheels (these wheels should be alot easier to clean and should do "ok" with our potholes. i see more of them these days after the heavy rainfall);
                    2. thinking of getting a K&N air filter (57S-9500 - K&N 57i Series Kits, Performance Intake Kit not sure if this is a straight fit or not, maybe there are better ones out there but this is what i have found so far that will fit the 1.4 single turbo); Ok no more filters for this car since it really doesn't look like it will do much. saves me 250.
                    3. possibly a supersprint exhaust like this (Supersprint Performance Sport Exhaust Systems for VW GOLF VI Tuning World
                    4. a bluefin superchip tune is on the list (but will most likely wait til half way through the warranty, only 3 yrs anyway);
                    5. foggies - I will probably get those lights off ebay (china one i think) then run it via a relay or something instead of going full oem for this one;
                    6. maybe a pro-rack whispbar for the finishing touch (i got the P-bar on my forester and they start making wind noise at 70-80kms)
                    7. either golf 6 gti spring or h&r sport spring to drop the car by 2-2.5cm (still need the car to be practical enough to be a family small car);
                    8. last but not least, probably a RNS510 with rvc.

                        Haha and you're still buying products from CCP! My boot is usually literally full of car care stuff when I go for a wash. I have so many MF cloths, it's not funny.Will go to SCA on Sunday after lunch to get my boot liner. Hopefully I don't get sucked in by their car care stuff that are on sale...!

                            naa havn't bought anything for a long time.. been trying to run the products down.. have about 4 bottles of Zymol that need to be used .. like you I have so many MF cloths my wife reckons she had less washing when we had baby's nappies

                            Also like you it is hard to leave SCA without some more cleaning product.. goddamn it is a condition that requires therapy.. I want to switch from wax to synthetic so it isn't as much work but the wax look is just devine

                            • G'day all,

                              I've just got a few questions about what what I can actually apply to the interior of my 118 Comfortline TSI 6 Speed manual, the vast majority of websites only mention the GTI by name, I would assume they would fit but I'd rather have conformation before I buy.

                              Specifically the parts i was looking at were the Osir metal pedals and foot rests. It looks like there is also a clutch pedal included but I can't tell for certain.
                              OSIR Design USA-OSIR - O-Rest GT - RHD - VW MkV/VI

                              Also, is it possible to attach one of the customised shift knobs to a manual gear-stick? Specifically the LED ones.

                              OSIR Design USA-OSIR - Orbit Illuminated Knob V3 - Noir (Black)

                              Thanks in advance!

                              Edit: To make my post even more complicated, I'm assuming this will fit any car made past 2006? http://www.osirusa.com/mm5/merchant....y_Code=VGTI6ED again, I'd just love the outside confirmation before I start outlaying cash.

                                Your post came out of context so I looked at the thread title and then the date on your photo and thought, huh ?
