Yeah.... Well as long as it protects the carpet, I'm happy. It's not like I'm constantly looking at it..

        • If the 3M stone guard film turns yellow, will this be replaced under warranty by the manufacturer? I'm concerned as I am getting a white
car, but don't really want the front end to be a shade of yellow within a couple of years, although it may be better than a peppered look.

Thats a fact.. it just has to protect the boot area.. looks fine captain and for the coin it cant be beat. The supercheap item is quite thick rubber and probably wouldn't be as flexible as the one you have

              • VW branded roof racks are practical, sturdy and make heaps of wind noise. I should have gone aftermarket.

I wonder if the dealership will refund.

                • If you manage to return them, get the Rhino Rack. They are fantastic! - and look far better IMO. Me old man has them on his Hilux and they are near silent.

                  • The VW roof racks are Thule. There ain't no better product on the market.
However, it's better to just get them from a Thule dealer rather than from VW...

Wanna give some info. Did you get this from ECS, or another place? Have you fitted it yet, did it fix it?

Thick chunky bars Corey, I thought they would have been Aero Bar equivilants. I can see the quality is excellent, along with the bike carrier, just very noisy. I might try taking them off and see how easy it is to fit. If it's a 10min job I might just take on/off as I need them.

Pro-rack whispbar also seem pretty good.

                        • Bummers... so they're giving you guys the old style bars now hey.

The current Rhino Rack range is very much like the Thule designs anyway. Thule introduced the "aero bars" at least 10 years ago now. In any case, as with most things from a car dealer, you're often best to get it after market.

Ordered last night from ECS, $107 AUD
will get it fitted by VW during next service, or just a VW mechanic etc

will report back in the rattle thread once its fitted.
