Well I picked mine up on Tuesday. Done about 300k's so far, and today its got the GTI rattle, sounds like a tube of rice rattinling between 1800-2800 or so RPM..

Going to get the dealer to check it / fix it with the clip when I take it back to get the paint spot on the bonet fixed..

Yes, what about that single reversing light LOL! When we first got the car I actually took it into a dealer to say the "other one is not working". I love the feel fo this car compared to typical Japanese or Korean options. It's so solid and the thunk of the doors is quite re-assuring. The hard disk and the connectivity options are also great - I must have 5000 hours of music on this car. And as for the upgraded sound system - this car rocks!

There were Central Electrics module revisions from week 22 2009 (went from version 03xx to 0537/0541), and again in week 45 (went to version 0573/0575).

Mine's a 0575 built in March 2010, and the module supports it, so presumably anything built after week 45 2009 should. There may be a question mark over the week 22 - week 45 cars, and I guess the earliest builds (March 2009 - week 22 2009) don't.

Do you guys also have it?
vdubber, I actually noticed this a few times now in my GTI as well mainly when I am switching off the ignition and mine sounds exactly the same >.<

just checked - mine is a very early MY10 (built May 2009) and the VW service foreman said it does not have it nor can they add it.

I actually have the car booked in to replace the water pump tomorrow. Will ask them if mine can get the lights dimmed.
Turns out that the adjustable footwell lights are an additional feature to vehicles more recent than my MY10 GTI.

Took me a while to notice that the speedo changes scale ... Are most cars like that?

How do you dim the footwell lights? I have an MY10 Mark VI GTI and the only options in the Light and Vision menu is coming home / leaving home / and the indicator comfort setting. No footwell option like the manual says. Is the correct for others? From what I have read, you should be able to dim the footwell lights, and even choose when they are on - ie on when door open and closed!
    Thanks

one press, drivers door. you need to have 2 presses in quick succession (ie no pause) to unlock rears.

at least that's teh case in mine.

I like having the alarm chirp and "pre-locking" the car prior to closing the doors.

close the doors and then you hear it chirp. excellent for when u have to cart kids out of a car and want to lock it without fumbling for keys whilst holding child(ren)

Yeah, but I only use one key.

Maybe I should sit down and really work it out once and for all. It really is rather annoying.

Yeah... I think that pretty much the entire convience menu, and other electronic adjustments such as your mirrors, are "key dependent".
