I've been told that you'll be able to feel the engine vibrations a lot more through the seat of the car - something not really desirable in a smooth and refined car like the golf. This is why I'm reluctant to install mine - I'll probably install mine at the next service and if its bad I'll just take it out.

        From the APR Product page:
The APR Torque Arm Mount Insert is inserted to the existing engine mount, which greatly reduces driveline shock and drivetrain slack, resulting in improved power transfer. It also enhances upshifting and downshifting.
I don't know if you've seen someone revving their car whilst the bonnet is open... or doing a dyno run etc. When you step on the accelerator, the entire engine moves (even when the car is stationary). So I guess changing this increases the forces required for the engine to move, to achieve those advantages above. However, in doing so it means that more engine/drivetrain vibration can be felt in the cabin - so there is a balance required.

There are other forum memers who have this installed (especially Polo GTI owners), so maybe you can do a search in that forum to see the comments from people who actually have them installed

These mods are common on the older Golf's and other VAG cars.

Before you jump in, it would be worth getting some feedback from someone who was done this to see what they think.

It could be the Mk6 stock ones are harder than the older models and not required / won't provide a difference for the average Joe.

ah i see.... i didnt quite understand the 'drivetrain slack' but now i do... thanks for that....

probably not worth it on the gti mk6 then, ill save my pennies for an APR exhaust upgrade then (is it bad that im thinking of upgrading even though i havnt even got the car yet?!?!)

Not at all. Just means that you want to make a great car better.
