Good on ya Fab, hope you had a blast out there!

Please don't misunderstand, my replies have not been meant to be negatives towards Fab, they have been to point out to the people who are still claiming that "power to weight" is the only factor involved in performance, and that only an increase in power to weight will improve those times, and ignoring the fact that <2 second 60' times and 12.x sec 1/4's have already been performed on the "tune level" that Fab is running.
Thanks Corey...I fully understand where you are coming from mate, and a better
60ft time is their for sure like the other R's out there.
        It is achievable!!!

I think if you read my post again, you'll realise that I was skeptical of the low 4s measured on the G-Tech/V-Box would mean it's a 12 sec car on the strip.

I even sent you a PM to support your opinion, lol.

Nah I got you, and with you 100%!

                  Low 4s on a golf r would equal a mid 12.. Maybe 12.5 quarter.. What's a STG 1 do again down the quarter.. 13.5?

                  • Good work Fab. My 60ft was a 1.8 when I ran my 13.1 so a better launch would definitely see you in the high 12's. Need to find a "private road" to practise some launches before the next time. I've had a few times where I could free rev when I had LC engaged but was cognisent of the limits of the DSG box and dropped the revs to around the 4k mark. I could have done some at 7k if I wanted. I have found that the hotter the box is the less likely it is to let it free rev so best time to do this is first couple of goes. I was only doing 100 mph through the traps so the extra 4mph is an indication of extra power despite what the recent dyno days show. It was also 30 degrees when I ran so that would have had an effect. Looking forward to seeing more tuned R's get on the strip and see what they can do.

                      • Hey guys, on my runs at WSID I enabled LC back in the car park line even before I got to the starting line. So the question I have is does LC work only for the first time you touch the accelerator after you enable it? If so then my LC wasn't enabled by the time I got to the start line. I read the manual on enabling LC and it doesn't state anything like this.... Stoopid question but not sure if it disables when it's put back into drive mode or from first time accelerator is touched.

                        • If you can rev your car without it loading up on the brakes (up to ~3000rpm, but even higher on initial spikes), then LC is enabled. If the car loads up against the brakes, then LC has deactivated (shift back to D then S to reactivate in the quickest manner).

@Dyldo - that's probably help quite a bit for the 60' times. It'll allow a launch of 4750rpm, plus it gives approximately 33% faster shifts than factory.

I will get the HPA stage 2 DSG Flash done as soon as they can do it down here.
This will make a difference i feel.

                              • Hi all, I went out last night to test the acceleration performance of my gti(stock dsg) and filmed the speedometer with my phone camera. The sky was clear, there was little to no winds/cross winds. The section of the road I drove on is a flat sealed road but after hitting 110km the road started to angle up a hill.
Apologies for the quality and the weird angle since I was pressing the phone againts the steering wheel with my right hand but here it is:
