Yeah - but his comments show a lack of understanding "normal is jsut fine, so you can do without ACC".
Um, normal mode is NOT the same as not having ACC. Your regular suspension is not measuring ~20 sensors (suspension, body, and others) 1000 times a second and then determining the optimal rebound for the conditions. Your normal suspension isn't nor loading up one side to minimise body-roll through corners.

Seems to be a common mistake that many people make.

Urgh - that was almost as painful as watching an episode of Fifth Gear.

Well just got back from filling up with some V-Power (haven't found any BP Ultimate yet but I will lol). Anyway pull up at a set of lights and glance over beside me to see two young guys in a VP SS revving the car and just being general smartasses, so I drop the car into S and didn't even bother using launch control. Lights go green and whoop them easily before backing off at the 80 speed limit, they continued on like idiots way over the limit obviously p@#ed off at being beaten by a Golf! hahahah.

A few sets of lights later im just about to cruise off in D taking it easy and some guy in a WRX which I didn't notice gives it a bootful. Luckily it was a right turn and I was on the inside lane so i rush into S and boot it as well and going round the corner we are fairly even. He gets a car length on me before the quick DSG gear changes caught him up and we both back off grinning at each other lol. Don't know if he realised either that a little hatchback was that quick LOL. Dunno what it is about Sat night but yep that was fun. I LOVE MY R

Yeah I had a Liberty GT honking me at a red light and inviting me to a sprint along Napean Highway. Didn't accept the challenge though. Wanted to preserve the 3500rpm rev limit

Lol yeah I dunno I hear mixed reports about running the R in to 1000k and others saying as long as the engine is warmed up in a modern car like this it should be fine. I'm up to about 500k on the clock now and I guess I just can't help myself and have gone for the latter but only give it a bit when its warmed up. I guess we will see what happens.

Yeah its a tough one so i just went pretty much by the manual, i was good for the first 1000km and kept the revs under 4500 99% of the time.

Once i hit 1001 km's i made up for lost time.

Guys, very obviously, 1/4 mile times cannot be done on public roads, so please stop asking for them.

I also don't see any videos anywhere of people racing up and down streets. Just because you have WOT doesn't mean you're racing. You can still use WOT in short bursts whilst obeying the laws.

People asking for 1/4 mile times are obviously asking for them to be done at drag strips.

And I can gurantee that if you try your "I'm still under the limit" whilst WOT with a cop he'll just laugh and do you for reckless driving.

It was 40Deg C in Melbourne today. The power delivery and turbo 'kick' was very disappointing. Any other Melburnian R owners experiencing this?

Either:
1) I'm used to the power delivery now and need the APR Stage 1 to giggle like a schoolgirl again or
2) Heat soak!

Will the Carbonio CAI help on hot days like these?

Yep the hot weather will do that lol. I didn't even bother giving the R much stick today, pretty much babied it most of the day. Get paranoid about things stuffing up on stinking hot days so usually take it easy, esp when the aircon is going as well. I always wonder when i see cars broken down on the side of the road on hot days, if they haven't had the AC full bore, blaring the sound system,driving too enthusiastically and generally just overworked the car in the heat

When it's 40 deg, not only will a CAI not do anything, but you'll be lucky if a FMIC does much at all. 40 is just too much I think for any real performance.

Follow runningmanz lead, don't smah the car when it's hot if you want it to love you long time man.



Anyway, quick R question, my MDI when playing iPhone 4 songs, only plays through the front left speaker..? Radio, CD and Bluetooth all play properly through 4 speakers. Any ideas?
