First Golf R 420 hp (315kw) build in the world - Australian exclusive!
I just thought I'd point out that this is not a RSC exhaust system. This has been developed by APR Australia (in other words Guy and Harding Performance) in co-operation with a local manufacturer and they do not have the equipment required to engineer an RSC exhaust.
Oh ok I see.. Thanks for clarifying that Coreying. I'd still like to know the weight difference though
Golf R
Candy White / 5 Door / DSG / Adaptive Chassis Control / Black 19" Talldega's / Sunroof / Recaro's / RNS510 + Dynaudio / MDI
Does look very impressive and the info on improved response sounds good but damn what a price!
Maybe I hung around the Jap stuff too much but $4k for a turbo back exhaust just seems crazy to me. (Yeah I know, don't like it, don't buy it....)
Believe me, we looked at mig welding, cheaper mix stainless & mild steel to be similar to some other imported products, but we couldn't justify cost / quality. This is our most intricate exhaust & to be honest, our least profitable by a LONG way. Anyway, we already have export orders - but the high dollar makes that hard
Is the new Golf R RSC Exhaust System any lighter than the standard system and if so, by how much?
As Coreying mentioned - its not RSC. I have not actually weighed the systems, but next production batch I will try to get some system weights for you (never dawned on me yesterday - sorry).
Catback will be fine, but the extra flow of the downpipe will cause the ECU to constantly try & keep the EGT's in check, so probably would ultimately go into limp mode sorry.
Hey GUY how much is the cutback only, and would it give any power increase over the stocka?
I'm definitely looking at getting your tune - who knows I might have even already had it if I got my car in JUNE when I wanted a car.. But as a performance enthusiast the 240kWs seems very good, bfb.
You don't have to convince me Fab, having owned Stage II before, I know it has nothing to do with peak numbers and all about the "real-life-experience". I'd already costed in the ECU, Downpipe, IC and CAI in my purchase budget for the R
The IC is probably not necessary, but since the R's is a little on the small side, I'll do that anyway just for piece of mind
