I wouldnt spend money on the elect seat option if it's doesn't have a memory function.

Big shame they don't have a memory function but I suppose they still want people to buy Audis! I ordered my GTI with the electric seat after trying one in a dealer. You can get so much more under-thigh support it makes a real difference to comfort and driving position. My better half is much shorter than me and I would have killed for a memory button but she barely drives it so I can deal with it.

I too would have paid extra for a memory function. Probably would even pay through the nose if the memory function also worked on the mirrors and steering wheel adjustment. Being over 2m tall every time someone else drives the car its a procedure just to get back to the normal driving position. As a result I use this excuse for my extended single status! (Last long term GF was just over 5" tall)

I've seen that before on high end Merc's and maybe BMW's. I think it'll be a decent while before it filters down to cars priced around the Golf though

Yeah, Parents had it in their LS400 in 1990. I've had it in Merc's since but doesn't seem to a filtered down very far. the best part was the fact that when you turned the ignition off the steering wheel withdrew and raised away so you could get out/in easier.I think the Passats have memory position but just couldn't bring myself to buy one.
