When is the cut off?

Does anyone know If an order is placed after that date approx when will the next batch of cars arrive in 2011?

Well today i finally took the plunge and ordered a Golf R.
Just snuck into the next production cycle so car should be here in November..

I don't see how they can give that sort of info, they have no idea and are making it up based on 'feel' alone.

I was told November for the Polo and then all of a sudden it got production allocation and the ETA date for delivery is mid September. Telling people November just saves their own arse to a point but they have no idea if it will be before or after really.

Dave five months is reasonable and why wouldn't it be November? Should just buy any spec off the lot.

I'm not disputing the timeframe, I'm disputing the fact that these dealers are quoting dates which they have estimated but presnting them to customers as gospel. The dates are not gathered from actual data in NADCON to have any merit.

Exactly. And announcing a "cut off date" of July 7th to make the production batch which will give a November delivery. How can a dealer know that? What happens if a non-related dealer in another state placed 20 orders for the R yesterday and used up all the last production slots in that batch?

As dave- said, the dealers are best guestimating. They should not be presenting these days as gospel, and customers (and forum members) should not be taking them as gospel.

It is based in information we have on vehicles already in the ordering system. There is a final cut off date before the vehicle is allocated a production date, that is the last date you can amend the specification. It is not an exact science, just 7 years of experience.

Look at posts 698 and 699...

These dates are best guestimations based on ordrers already in the system. Until this cycle closes off, the factory starts collecting orders again, and then figure out when they'll do the next batch, I'm not sure anyone can give you a specific date, other than, probably January or later

For the poor shmuks like me that originally ordered last year to take advantage of the Rudd tax bonus and did not get cars in original shipment and have reordered and locked in pre official release what is the likelihood of an 2010 delivery and when will the cars be allocated an official production date .
Any guesses on the delivery date for the next lot of r cars in the country

The next batch will start to trickle in October/November.

I am not sure how you value a Build/MY/Compliance Plate, but I will tell you this.... If you buy a new car every year, two years, three years or 4 years, so long as you buy it at the same time each year you will pay the same amount of money. IE, if you change over in November every 3 years you will pay the same as somebody changing over in February every three years. So if the car you ordered in December happens to arrive in November this year, just take it, enjoy it, and be happy Dont hold off for a 2011 Compliance Plate!

I believe you may have misinterpreted my concerns.
I really do not greatly care re compliance plate2010 vs 2011 .
My car was purchased by a company
My sole interest is getting my car this year otherwise I will forego the 50 % tax rebate for business purchases made pre dec 2009 AND DELIVERED PRE DEC 31 2010
I am feeling nervous about the delays and seek assurance the car will be in my possession this year
