Golf R Specifications and Prices

Finally pulled the trigger on a 3 door manual in rising blue with the following options,

- Fibre/Leather Racing Seats
- Adaptive Chassis Control
- 19” Talladega Silver Alloy Wheels
- Electronic Sunroof
- RNS510 Sat Nav with Dynaudio
- Media Device Interface
- Rear View Camera
- Factory Bluetooth

Since the privacy glass is standard it’s going to be a pain matching the tint all round as I want 15% tint for the rear and front windows.
I’m also not impressed that you cannot order the car without the number plate hold. As I have slim Euro plates I was thinking to colour code the number plate holder.

Awesome sounding spec list. That will good fun to drive and congrats on the purchase!

As for the tint, I feel the same way. I had an MY09 WRX which came with the rears pre tinted and even though it was dealer matched.. it did not.. match (one was slightly yellow the other slightly blue).

And I like nice dark tints on a car.. cant say they make a nice car look cheap. I think they enhance the look of the car.

And I cant say the lighter the tint, the more expensive looking it is, either.

For me also It's a Golf at the end of the day so its not going to look tacky or "pimp" like.

The dark glass is fairly dark anyway, i just don't particularly like the green tinge as it's hard to match. It's not that reflective either so while being dark at certain times doesn't appear that dark.

The shade, colour and opaqueness of window tint will always be a personal preference. I currently have 20% window tint on my GTI which I find helps to keep the car cool in summer which is the main reason why I want dark tints and I have never had a problem seeing out at night.
Rexman, the tentative delivery date for the car is late December so the next +5 months will go painfully slow.

It doesn't matter what the car, some people just have an ability to make anything look bad. Being a golf won't save it LOL.

Last tinted car I had was well over 6yrs ago so can't say it bothers me either way. I'll probably leave it be and if the look of non-tinted vs privacy glass annoys me than worry about it. Surely with all the other VW's over the years, they've perfected the match well enough for R owners not to have to reinvent the wheel?

Now that I actually my R in my garage, I can chip in to this thread.

Using the calculator: 13.75% off, was in stock too... demo km (~400km) on it.

Dealer I dealt with was fantastic, very helpful, very professional.

Expected deliver is December. Going to be a long wait but I am in no real rush.

Expected deliver is December. Going to be a long wait but I am in no real rush.

Bit of a tough one, would do if i sold the GTI for a good price but may not bother as there's nothing wrong with it anyway. At least with FWD there's a point where you'd stop the mods.

May wait for the MK7 R with the new motor or get a second hand 135i or RS3 in a few years .

Only thing missing that I would have liked was the RVC... so seeing what options are available now for after market, but not essential.
Skoda BT kit to be fitted, and tint as soon as I can figure out what matches the privacy glass.
