anyways that was published today... car advise could of made a simple phone call to any VW dealership and they would of got the prices from there... the prices was posted here only hours before VW found out about their pricing.

I'm sure, whoever put the prices up on here got it from someone that works at VW but just with a higher level of "security access" than your local VW manager and salesman... who just gets their information via a memo, which the memo probably was sitting with the receptionist (who doesn't give a toss about new car pricing)

The dealers get a lot of info prior but they won't admit to it until the launch day or just before.

Well yeah that could be the case as well... but if i was a dealer and i knew the pricing, i would tell customers who come asking... why wouldn't you? if you can tell your potential customers the pricing, they could very well pre order one on the spot from your dealer.

Eg. Barloworld mascot and five dock... IF i was desperate and want to be the 1st ones to own a golf R and would only buy if i knew the prices. i called both and mascot told me the pricing and five dock didn't. I would buy it from mascot and vice versa.

VW Australia take these things pretty seriously. I reckon if they find out where the leak come from that persons job would be on the line.

I think I may have deleted the posts in the "clean up" but several members wrote yesterday that they had received calls / emails etc from the dealers with the prices. In addition, a few people have already test driven the cars. So obviously there are multiple dealers who aren't "playing by the (VGA) rules", not just a singular person.

But anyway, lets get this back on topic before I need to do another cleanup

well yeah probably... i'm just speculating and making assumptions. Well VWs are telling people prices now... and the car is not supposed to be launched till saturday. Some dealers are driving the cars around and showing them off and letting others drive it lol

With the pricing released and all, how's it going to affect the resale of the R32?

not that my opinion counts, but

I dont like the wheels. Cleaning those buggers would be a nightmare. Prefer the 18" detroits
I dont like the rear exhaust positioning. I get it that it is a flow on from teh R32, but the "look" on the GTI is aesthetically more pleasing to me
I LIKEY a lot the recaro's. One big tick from me, even as a daily driver. The standard pews look a lot like my 1997 WRX ones did, and somewhat similar to my old Saab. Black and grey is not very contemporary...
I dont like the look of the external mirrors, they look "unfinished"
I like the blue dials. I'm also wondering how they included a Blue start-up logo on the RNS....
foglights being so small make the white examples look like stormtroopers from star wars films on front view....
More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....

There are no foglights on the R... just the LED DRLs

There are a whole bunch of them... some brand new, some demos, all in the range of 57k+ in NSW.

                              Some 2nd hand ones 5000km-25000km between 50-55k

and the rest 25000km+ going down from around 48k and less for more kms.

Comes in different colours, but funny thing is so many of them says "urgent sale" in codeword, buy my r32 as i have ordered a golf R.

None of the R's come with front fogs, at all.

I'm happy you posted the prices, but unhappy as now I'm undecided on what I should do for my next car... Project as planned or get a 3dr CW R? THANKS HEAPS!

Oh and I'm getting pretty annoyed at how Austral hasn't emailed me about the opening night they are meant to be holding for us.
