Damn, you lot are scaring me now!

I think I will head into my dealers for an update and get a double check of the "NADCOM". Will also try and get the Reverse Camera option added if at all possible since my car is still a fair way off (this may be dicing with disaster though).

And don't forget that if your car has passed the build stage and you have a VIN, you can use erWin to check the full specs according to VW. Costs 5 Euro for a one hour subscription, which is more than enough to pull down a spec sheet. Worked for me! (And yes, my car did vary from the order, however it fell in my favour rather than the other way round.)

Just to add something from the dealers perspective. My brother is a mechanic, he was with Honda at the time. The customer had ordered a black Jazz, with all the accessories, gold badging, reverse camera, paint protection, tow bar, alloy wheels, etc, etc. My brother obviously got the colour right, checked the last four digits of the vin number had all matched and went about fitting all accessories. As the sales bloke came to do the final inspection before the customer turned up, they'd realised that the car ordered was a manual, the car they'd done everything too had the auto box... an unfortunate oversight, what is it the chances of the vin number (of 16 odd digits long) having the same last 4 digits in the showroom, same colour at the same time. The customer was ok and go sorted

Cheers for the link AdamD. Didn't hesitate for a second to pay the one hour subscription fee for piece of mind in checking the specs are indeed as I ordered them. Also, it appears as though my credit card has been charged AU$0.06 instead of 5€. Score

It's definitely worthwhile, and you get a document that could be handy down the track, identifying all the specifics of your build.

Sounds like the currency conversion charge. Maybe the 5€ will turn up... maybe not.

                Hi guys,

After reading this thread I requested and received immediately from my dealer, the vehicle specs screen shot. It all looks like what I oredered except for this one, "Lights & Vision' package code "PLA". The question I have does this mean I am getting Xenon lights, as I did not order that option?

Also I can't see where it mentions DSG.

                Any help would be appreciated.

Well, you haven't really told us what you are getting in your post about.... but I looked up your previous posts and you said a GRD.

Anyway PLA is a standard in the GTD for Australia. My R has it as well.
The DSG isn't an "option" - it's a separate car. So all the way at the top of that page with the option codes it will say "Golf 2.0 GTD 125 TDID6A 5K1xxx" or something like that.... that is where it'll let you know what type of car is on order and whether it has DSG or not

No idea what that means on a GTD... my dealer told me something similar was fitted to my R, I assumed he meant the black headlights you get with the 19" wheels on the R.

Nope. It has nothing to do with the black headlights with the 19" wheels on the R. All R/GTI/GTD orders will have PLA, and probably even the Comfortline models.

Thanks Coreying, don't know where I got GRD from? meant to be GTD.

                        Anyway thanks for the answer.
