RNS 310 is the sat nav option for the Polo, RNS 510 is only for the big boys cars of the Golf and above.

Having swapped units from cars with no RVC into cars with RVC the RCD510 seem to all have AV input.website: www.my-gti.com

The dealer is contractually bound to deliver the car as per the order. I think you should insist on having the RVC installed immediately, into the rear VW badge just like it would be from the factory. It is of no relevance if this is expensive or difficult for the dealer to do.
If they told you that they would not do it, or that you would need to pay extra now to get it done, then that is simply unlawful. Not only does it breach the contract, that refusal would trigger numerous contraventions of the Fair Trading Act.
I would advise you to do the following, in order if any step fails:
1. Call the dealer again, remind them of contract law and FTA;
2. Call VW Aust and complain
3. Call or go online to lodge a complaint with the Fair Trading office (Lodge a complaint - NSW Fair Trading)
4. See a lawyer
RVC is a great option and well worth having. I expect you would only have to make one firmly spoken phone call to the dealer before this fiasco is brought to a happy ending.

Have you posed the question as to them sourcing a similar vehicle (wagon) which may already be made/in Australia? They can search VW Australia stock control system for a match. It is in their best interests to keep you business. Otherwise it may be worth a call to VW Australia. Bad, bad experience.
Let us know how you get on.
Dealer came back to me and said they could not source one. So i rang every dealer in the state and sourced 4 cars like the one i wanted.
Long story short I got what i wanted with extra upgraded stereo RVC and park assist for only $1500 more i am wrapt, suffice to say I will never go back to the original dealer and will tell everyone i know. Not only did they mess up in the 1st place they cauld have recified it but obviously could not be bothered as like i said i was able to source 4 cars in 20 minutes of ringing around

i ended up with the same problem today. after waiting nearly 3 months, i was to pick up my car today, and when i got there the sales manager told me that they ****ed up.
they got me a 118 tsi with leather and not sports pack leather, was asking if i would still consider taking it for a reduced price. i just cut his sentence before he finished with a no. so apparently whats happening now is that they're giving me a same car but with extra sun roof for the same price. but a few days later, thank god.........

It Just happened to me !
Folks,
I laughed when I first saw this thread 3 months ago. Well, I'm not laughing any more.
I had a sheepish phone call from the dealer 30 minutes before delivery that my GTI had been ordered without Dynaudio. It was a complex build, but the stock orderer had omitted it.
The car was financed, and the finance company had already settled on it, so it would have been extremely difficult to walk away from the deal. I was offered a re-order but with January 11 delivery.
I was able to secure a refund of the Dynaudio, and a Kufatec BT installed as a goodwill gesture, but it really took the gloss off my new car.
I have listened to the RNS510 with the stock speakers, it is okay, but ultimately disappointed.
Listen is get the dealer to print out the order with all the codes, so there is no confusion on there end.[SIZE="1"][I]2010 Mk6 GTI 3 Door - Tornado Red, ACC, Roof, Xenon, RNS510, MDI with 1TB HDD, RVC, Park Assist, BBS CK Alloy Wheels, 2 x Alpine MRV-F345 Amps, Alpine Type X 17-PRO Front stage, Type X 13-REF rear stage, 1 x Alpine Type R Sub, Alpine PKG-RSE2 Overhead DVD/Monitor

Yeah - this sucks, but at least it's a relatively easy thing to fix. You can now go to any car audio specialists and get the Dynaudio (or Focal, or whatever) installation you want installed and have an even better setup than the VW Dynaudio option!
Some poor people have ended up with something which is completely not the car they've ordered (wrong gearbox, colour paint and interior etc).
But yes, PLEASE get the dealer to do a screenshot or a printout of the "NADCOM car planning screen" and double check all the order codes. There will be more than you expect, and some options are even multiple codes, so if you don't quite understand it all, just ask the dealer to explain it to you. But as you go through the list, make sure all your options and configuration is accounted for!Last edited by Corey_R; 28-07-2010, 07:35 PM.
