Yeah - if you can get a used MK6 GTI exhaust, that would make the upgrade a LOT cheaper. He'll likely have a few around due to putting the APR RSC exhausts on GTI's.

Have you checked on whether the rear valance between the 118TSI and GTI compatible? Because if not you'd be up for an entire rear bumper, and then painting would be mandatory.

You forgot at the same time you can bring a TSI close to low 30k as well...

Which still represent 10-12k difference between them...

By the way, the new gti doesnt seems to sell as well as the old one...

tell it to everyone on a wait list for GTI.... ppl who heve GTI5 most likely not gone get GTI6 since they are very simular

as for 118...by the time you make GTI look-a-like you already invested a lot of money in it which brings you very close to GTI budget... and the main issue you will never see this money when you will sale your car since its still 118 with extras...

                Rear valance 350
used gti exhaust (rear only) 500 (?)
Fittings and parts (ie adaptor, flange etc) 200

1050 <--- will make a TSI closer to a GTI budget, but, not close enough...

As i said, just for the looks...

Add extra for shipping, painting and time and you get even closer.

I would say leave the exhaust as is unless you are upgrading it for performance gains.
