Auto Closing Sunroof & Windows Tricks and Tips?

ok back to my question... is it possible to configure car so it closes sunroof when you close doors

With rain-sensing wipers activated and the car locked and it starts raining the windows DON'T automatically close. I had to close mine from inside my office by holding down the keylock until the windows closed. It could be that it requires torrential rain on the sensor before the windows close automatically, but I didn't want to risk driving home with a soggy bottom to prove that it works.

They should go up in the same time it takes for the wipers to sense it's raining.. I'm not sure if it still bases that on the sensitivity setting on the wiper stalk.

I have it activated on mine, works every time.

Needs to be modified in 2 places for it to work though. I used same procedure as for the Mk5

It only requires a trickle of water poured over the sensor to close the windows and roof. There is a small delay after you pour the water but they will close with the slightest amount of rain. But the features have to be turned on, they're not on by default.

The dealer won't turn these features on. They are not supported by Volkswagen on these cars and they are not going to put themselves in a position where they are liable if they don't operate correctly or cause other faults.

Steve tdi, I followed your links and can't see anything different to what I have already enabled, unless the GTI is different from the TSI in the electronics, the comment above from Dana@Ross-tech from a week ago suggests they have not found the solution either. If you have enabled it could you let Ross-tech know your codes so they can update their info. Thanks

When asked, my dealer told me that he can get the window open/close with keyfob feature done for me when my Golf arrives (in mid May). May be I should ask him about the warranty issue... Thanks for the information, Maverick.

Did yo get it to work so you don't need to hold down the keyfob the whole time?

Havent played TBH< i dont think there is anythign wrong with the way it is.

If anyone in melb is up for it, im happy to program the Rain Closing and this time document what is done for everyone else's benefit as it seems to be harder to do than i suspected.

The key is that its not just a check box - you need to manually add a 7 (i think) to one of the bits.

It's good not to have to hold the button down as you can walk away from your car without having to watch or wait for them to finish closing.

Also what didn't you like about the fog turning? Do they only come on at night?
