Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

As for comprehensive, strangely, NRMA was the cheapest option for me this year.My Car: 2014 Subaru STI, Pearl White, Weather shields & Tints ETA 30/6

RACQ - $ 331.80
ALLIANZ - $ 331.80
QBE - $ 331.80

But Comprehensive Car Insurance (with windscreen) is very different:

I have that quote 7 days ago and this is with all drivers over 25 years of age, maximum discount 60% and no claim for last 15 years.
YES I agree big differences in prices from $666 to $471 and agreed value too from $21600 to $28890.R36 > MK5 2006 1.9 TDI > MK4 2003 1.6 Generation > MK3 1995 2.8 VR6 > MK2 1990 1.6 > MK1 1982 1.8 GTI

I saw your COLES quote so jumped onto their website to see what they would quote me;
Golf GTI MY13, Carport, personal driving, rating 1 protection and car windscreen cover - $1200.
Seems high - although they have a price beat guarantee it's only for the first year...
...just checked the small print on my Suncrop insurance;
for 88 p.m. It's called Comprehensive Advantages - lifetime new for old replacement, all glass covered, unlimited hire car, insured amount $52k and excess is $600. (that's garaged, personal driving only, and no one under 25 allowed to drive).

I used NRMA comprehensive plus for my previous vehicle and it was written off in an accident (got rear end). They're ok and handle my claim without much drama. However, a couple of smash repairers I spoke to don't like them very much when it comes to repairing your own vehicle. NRMA don't like quote with new parts. But certainly they're not the worst in that aspect.
All I hear now is Allianz (from friend/co-workers) is the one who treat you the best when you have to make a claim.
I'm still tossing between NRMA and Allianz just for the fact that they've got a slightly better policy for the same price with Allianz. And yes Sydney sucks when it come to CTP/Comprehensive insurance

I am currently paying around 1.8K a year and for CTP , it has definitely gone up this year and i am also paying close to $800 as well (that would be due to the fact that i am under 27 though)

I've heard the same things about Allianz - The only reason I'm looking is because my premium went up with AAMI this year (despite no claims & safe driver 'discount' etc etc) plus I hear you don't really have a choice of repairer.....
Oh yeah NSW CTP is absolute balls this year (I paid $780 - The cheapest from the CTP comparison site) Did something happen that pushed the premiums up for our state alone? I saw someone's previous post from QLD - All his quotes were under $400?captain courteous enjoys vag
