Yep, 12 months from the time the oil goes in the engine. Check your car's production date, so you don't drive 2 years on one oil.Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link

Not sure if this has been asked before, but, I am due for my first ever tank of fuel (yes I haven't driven it enough due to catching the train to work, some mad hours at work last week etc) and should I/can I use fuel injector cleaner on my first tank? I have normally used this every 5000km or so in my old cars, although not sure what it is like for the 2.0T motor and as it is new and all...Current ride: 2014 Range Rover Evoque 5 Door TD4 Pure | 9 Spd Auto | Fuji White | Black Leather | 19 inch 'Dynamic' Wheels

I haven't bothered with additives on this car. I figure with direct injection, you aren't cleaning much (ie: not helping the intake valves, etc).
I do use Shell V-Power, which is chock full of stuff that isn't petrol. BP is supposed to be full of detergent too.
Transporter is usually very keen on additives. Oh, the dillemma!carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

Yes, I use the diesel additive every time I fill up and I never had a problem related to the fuel or fuel system.
In petrol engines incl. TSI I use only only Interject injector cleaner every service interval. To me it is the best injector/fuel additive you can have, it does clean whole fuel system and the top of the pistons. My daughter's fiancé gets a bottle of interject415 into his RS Octavia TSI (only petrol car in family) every 5,000km or more often. I wouldn't bother with the Nulon type of additives. In your diesel engine you can use Morey's Diesel Smoke Killer that is suitable for the CRD and the DPF equipped cars and available from all good parts stores.

thanks guys! I was worried that there might be some issue with using it so soon, although I would think that cleaning the motor out within the first 1000km would be best!Current ride: 2014 Range Rover Evoque 5 Door TD4 Pure | 9 Spd Auto | Fuji White | Black Leather | 19 inch 'Dynamic' Wheels

You want 413Y in 250ml bottle the 415Y which is available in 20L is for the trade use as an injector cleaner and at the same time it is the diagnostic fluid for use with the Interject equipment.
For these in Adelaide, I can supply 415Y or any Interject product at any quantity.Last edited by Transporter; 30-05-2011, 07:14 PM.Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link
