Yeah exactly. But seriously - don't discount from going to one of the dealers at the Gold Coast. Even Harding Performance in Brisbane drive down to the Gold Coast to purchase all their cars - a few of the Brisbane dealerships seem to have a reputation for being difficult to bargain with!

I'm just gonna go in tomorrow and make them think i can't afford it without any more of a discount. Hopefully they step up to the plate and bring it down to the 44k mark.
Worse case scenario i walk and go to another dealer.
It's not like there are a shortage of VW dealers around me.
Plus they wont let a 44k sale go that easy...
If you're dealing with Austral loosen your belt before you go in, they will do whatever it takes to get the sale and you'll end up limping out with a rubbish deal. Highway are good to deal with and the dealers on the Sunshine Coast and Ipswich are good. Gold Coast I've heard good and bad about but nowhere near the bad rep that Austral has.
If it is Austral they will give you a good trade price and change it downwards substantially when go to pick up your new car. Best to deal with someone who is honest.website: www.my-gti.com

Yeah Austral was the first place i went to and i left because i didn't like anyone i was dealing with.
Anyway the car I'm trading is 2002 Polo S with with 78400kms plus VW 15" mags, pioneer avic-f900bt http://www.techshout.com/images/pion...f900bt-gps.jpg and a little body kit which makes it look slightly like a gti. Whether or not those extras will make a difference in the overall sale price is a different story but i though i may as well note them. It's interior and exterior is in immaculate condition so its a nice well looked after car.
So the place I'm dealing with atm have offered me 7k which is a price I'm happy with considering the convenience. I was going to sell it for around 9 because that what a friend and i think i could get if i did it myself.
Red book say the following...
* Private Price Guide $6,700 - $8,300
* Trade In Price Guide $4,400 - $6,000
* Average Km 120,000 - 200,000
So at the end of the day i don't think they are loosing out to much by getting my car as it's not that bad at all.
P.s
Here's a snap of my polo Im trading.... http://www.uploadhouse.com/viewfile.php?id=5195505 If you think its worth less then 7k let me know so i can re evaluate things.Last edited by JordanNaumov; 07-03-2010, 09:50 PM..: Golf GTI MK6 :.

Your Polo looks quite nice. When I saw your write 'bodykit' I thought OMG - but it's quite tasteful and looks like it was possibly a VW option anyway....
.... BBBBBUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTT.....
The car is too old for a VW dealership to place it on their lot. So although they may take the trade, they'll have to sell it off to some other second hand dealer lot or auction house. So it's not likely you will get anywhere near the price on trade in that you could get from selling privately.

If its any indication! I just ordered White 5 door manual w/ privacy glass, MDI + ipod cable for $40000 drive away!! And the car is already on the boat here so hopefully 6-8 wk wait!
So for a 3 door manual you should be able to get $40000 flat easily!

Hey guys.
Been a few days since i've been online but I have an update on my order...
After a lot of negotiations and even a few heated words my dealer and i have finally agreed on a new price for my new GTi.
Here it is....
Golf GTi mk6 2 door candy white
DSG
Detroit wheels
Bluetooth
MDI
Reverse parking sensors
$45k drive away.
What you think ?.: Golf GTI MK6 :.
3 door - DSG - candy white - detroit wheels - Sunroof - MDI - parking sensors - bluetooth

I've allocated $700 for the bluetooth (you didn't really say which one there) and $700 for the parking sensors. These are no longer a factory option, so I assume the dealer is fitting aftermarket ones.
I figure the on the road price to be ~$49610
That would give a $4610 discount or around 9.3% which is pretty good

After market reversing sensors????? Whhhhhattttttttt? How come VW aren't doing them anymore? Hope they wont be ****...
And yeah only basic Bluetooth.. Can you tell me the difference between advanced and basic bluetooth?.: Golf GTI MK6 :.

VW do 'Park Assist' now, which is rear AND front parking sensors, PLUS the ability for the car to reverse park itself. It's a $1400 factory fit option.
As for the difference between the various bluetooth's, go check the VW Car Audio and Electronics forum
