I think my Polo did indeed suffer from this. It was always sprightly when cool but would die on me after a run, at which point I'm assuming operating temperatures had been reached.

VW Importer can still redeem itself if it acts. However if other countries continue to take action ahead of here, its going to leave a bad taste for sometime to come.
Ah big business, always living one financial year at a time and never being able to see the forest for the trees.

The damage from this issue will last a decade because no admission or action has come swiftly.

Total shame for what was a brilliant brand now to be lumped with a Toyota like recall reputation.

Are recalls given new TPI's immediately? I don't mind checking for 5 euros an hour provided I'm sure VW has updated.

Hi car recall in Malaysia with dsg7 ....

            • I wonder if this fixes the false neutral problem. I get them once in a while if I drive hard in manual mode continuously for about 30 mins. People seem to think that the DSG is overheating and just gives up and sets itself to neutral. These recalls talk about fixing "power interruptions" on the DSG. This sounds like the false neutral problem to me...

                      • Is anyone able to break down the steps in getting my GTI 35 to 'fart'?! I've read heaps of posts on various forums about the DSG and exhaust farting on hard upshifts, but I cannot for the life of me get mine to do it. While it appears that an APR Stage 1 should make the fart louder, is it possible that it has actually killed the ability for it to make that sound?

Thanks very much guys, and don't worry - yes, I feel like a complete tool for having to ask this question!

                        • Adjean, re GTI DSG fart I find it easiest to produce going up a short hill on full, quick acceleration, every time without fail it produces a few beautys

Re DSG reliability I've had my GTI for 12 months and its been sensational, no issues, smooth. The 6 speed DSG box fitted to the GTI's and the higher powered diesels has been pretty much issue free, mainly the 7 speed DSG as per golf 118tsi thats been the issue here and OS

Would the extended VW warranty cover this?
