They sold me the Red one same price as signed, yes, but it's still base model (just different colour and seat cloth to what I ordered), so it's the same price I guess (since it's not metallic paint either which is $500 more expensive).

The other Red one with ACC and SatNav is still at the dealership. They have a nice Candy White R there too at the moment. Looks great!

Congrats on your R MadWorm. Pity about the delay,but now that you've finally got it,well worth the wait! I too got my R two weeks ago tomorrow. I've just clocked up 960kms,it's such a pleasure to drive! Just got back from a place north of where I live called "Paluma". 10kms of hilly,twisty roads to give the ACC a real workout. Glad I took that option from the factory too. So which tune did you have in mind? I've opted for the Bluefin, will load it up in a few weeks after she's run in a bit more,that is of course if my R doesn't have an encrypted ECU

Only thing is though that they didn't give me the keys for the locks on the bike carriers, so I'll have to go back to the dealership tomorrow and get it.

Nah,it's an MY11.5. I think the build date was 2 or 3 weeks short of it being an MY12

I checked the VIN, definitely an 11.5. I just missed out. My dealer even brought it up, we met each other in the middle which was pretty fair of them.

Tune will be APR stage 1, the tuner in Canberra has a good reputation with the VW/Audi community. In fact the dealer I didn't buy from told me they even run cars over to him for tune installation before delivery for clients....

Hi All,

Well after an agonising and painfully slow 3 month wait, many of us has had to endure I know.
I very gratefully acquired my new MY11 Golf R this week.

Black / 5 Door / DSG / SatNav / MDI / Bluetooth / Leather

It's so much better than i could have expected, even the multiple test drives did little to prepare me for it.
The feeling of that first solo untamed drive is awesome!!

To quote MadWorm in an earlier post it genuinely is a the most comfortable and effortless drive.

I too have plans for a few mods that'll need to pass through the "Powers that be"

I'll take some nice pics and post em in the weeks to come.

I know I shouldn't complain, others are waiting, ....and have had to wait a lot longer than I did.

Regardless of the time frame though, the end result is totally worth it, I'm sure we'll all agree.....

We pick our my12 golf R up on friday afternoon .. cant wait!! I didnt sleep last night..and doubt I'll be sleeping much the rest of the week knowing that it is in brisbane just 45 minutes away!

hey, for sure when i get it ill be up for some adventurous driving through a nice scenic road! ..

I purchased it from Gold Coast VW at Southport.. who sourced it from Norris at Kedron.. (it got dropped off at Kedron so thats where it currently is but still hasnt had the pre-delievery done so its getting done at Gold Coast on Wednesday apparently.. was very lucky to get a my12 with no wait! We were getting a GTI, but it was further delayed.. so i went in and said find me a R..and bingo..the exact car we wanted! .. just a base R with black 19's in manual with mdi/bluetooth.. its all we need! not a bad car for a 22yr old! im hoping it is as good a drive as my 07 STI was! I priced up replacement tyres today..it has Dunlop Sport maxx GT's on it.. $700 a corner..ouch!
