The other thing is do you want it to be repaired ? As it would never be the same again...
You wish to apply blame (fault) to someone in an altercation which is thousands of KMs away when all this poor bugger is interested in is whether his car is retrievable or not. Go away little person.

Not necessarily I'm afraid. Mine was written off due to roof damage, but only because there are no laser welders in WA. The assessor said if the car had been anywhere they have them (he was from QLD, so mentioned there specifically), it would have been repaired, no question.

We feel for you GTI Crow, most important thing is that your wife is alright.
Good luck with the rest and keep us posted.

I scratched the hatch on my Golf two days after I got it - raised the hatch in the garage, forgetting about the open garage door above my head.

Wouldnt the fault be on the guy who had put on the incorrect signal. Without that, there would not have been an accident? I would argue that.

Glad your wife is ok. Wish you the best with the rest of it.

Two hours after picking up my R it was almost written off, guy decided to change lanes into me @ 70km/h but the brakes in the R work pretty good then almost got rear ended by the rav4 behind me.

Find out tomorrow if it can be saved.

Luckily my wife is all right - she was getting ready to pick me up from hospital (after a knee operation) where I thought I would not be able to drive my car for 4 days - it will be a little longer now.
Which insurer? And have they decided to repair or write off? My pug 308 had similar damage. Insured with AAMI. 6 months to repair via 3 different repairers. Never insuring with AAMI again and will ensure that if I crash any other car in the future, need to make sure it's a write off... The car will never be the same post repairs... Take 100s of photos pre repair work... You have to protect yourself... Get repairs then checked by a reputable VW dealer...

I had my CW GTD a week and picked up a friend at the airport. He heaved his heavy luggage in the back, taking a chip out of the bumper with the luggage wheels in the process. I maintained enough composure to drive him to his hotel where he slammed his side door as hard as he could into a concrete wall. I decided to have the rear bumper repainted and the paint doesn't match. The door retouch also still feels slightly rough. My 15yo Toyota is unmarked. Go figure. Apart from that, I'm very happy with my three-week-old second hand GTD.

Carbon Steel Grey Metallic GTI MK6 got keyed

Hi guys. Was just about to take the GTI for a spin this morning to find out some low life keyed it from the front to back door on the driver side. The scratch doesn’t seem to be that deep but it’s still pretty annoying seeing I've only had the car for 5 months and hardly take it out.

Appreciate it if anyone can recommend any good shops which I can take it to in the Sydney inner west area to get the scratch sorted out?

                            Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear that mate. Scientific Smash Repairs at Ultimo should get it back to the way it previously was.
