Im thinking about $55,990 for 5dr with DSG. As others have suggested, no leather should reduce the base price.
Therefore, I'd say a 5dr with DSG should be $55,100
And that's before you include those other factors you mentioned, and take into consideration the typical "Australian perception on more is better" with the change from 3.2L V6 to 2L 4 etc.

APR's S3's has been going strong but you could always call and check on them.

Yeah - can't see an issue with 240kw/435NM since the Stage 3 kit is 300kw/500nm and it runs fine
Obviously if you start doing 1/4 mile drags at every traffic light, you need to perform some changes to reinforce the drive train, but for regular every day use, it'll be fine

Another review: Yahoo!Xtra Sports - Blogs
Im a bit disapointed by these reviews. I know its normal for the big brother to often be questioned on value, the WRX vs STi battle has always been similar. STI is the best car, WRX is the best value. But there seems to be a bit more negativity around the R. Golfs have always been understated in the looks department but they have gone overboard (underboard!) with the Mk6. By giving it the looks it deserves, and also the power/weight it deserves would leave reviewers nothing to say other than how good it is. Both should and would be easy fixes for VW.

I think most people on here would be happy with it, it's a shame some of the reviews talk it down but i suppose they are comparing it to more outlandish styled cars like the Focus RS & Megane. It will still be fast and tasteful and a great all rounder as far as im concerned.

Ok blah to the reviews...
Best Motoring Vid of the R against an Evo, STI, Scirocco R and some stupid Honda
YouTube - Scirocco r golf r evo x sti 2.5
Now the R comes 4th, but at the end it shows the best lap from the race and then a time attack lap time. Both R's were very close. I think that is quite impressive for a car that hasn't been designed to be a hard edge racer.
Also, that track isn't a power track and has a lot of tight corners (plus its very short) so the EVO AWD system would help a lot, a more balanced track would see a different result I think. Notice the straight line power diff of both R's to the Evo, pretty impressive.Last edited by dave_r; 22-04-2010, 10:20 AM.

Also, what comments did they make in relation to discounting at all?
If it comes back too expensive then ill just cancel the order and look at other makes.Last edited by ddre78; 22-04-2010, 04:24 PM.
