Having driven behind my mates R, i think they are 100% worth it. LED's look awesome at night and me driving behind his would have looked even better!!!

Obviously, this thread refers extensively to VCSD. If a dealer (now VW authorised that is) who is next door to my work has VAG-COM, is it easy for them to do it with this system and any instructions on what they need to do? They have done numerous Beeemms but mine would be the first VW and rather than have them spend a while researching the right settings, it would help to know if there is some guidance that I could provide?

Please note that VCDS and VAG-COM are the same thing, and that neither are "officially" used by Volkswagen dealerships.

Since VAG is trademarked to Volkswagen Audi Group, the avoid any confusion (such as the post above), RossTech were asked to change the name of VAG-COM to VCDS.

Your VW dealer may be able to do this anyway - but not using instructions from this thread, unless they have RossTech's VCDS.

Yes, just ordered a set which are now on their way to me so all is good. Price incl delivery was 509 (or 709 - whichever sounds right, as not in the country at the moment to check) Euro...

does anyone have photos how non tinted & tinted look on carbon steel gray?

also just a quick question related to LED's as I dont know much about replacment of these after the usual wear and tear. does one need to replace the whole unit or something else when they fail to work...as with the current factory model one just changes the globe itself....

I believe that individual LED bulbs can be replaced if/when they go; ref this link for an example of an LED bulb supplier.

To be honest I haven't checked my tails closely enough to work out how accessible the individual bulbs actually are, but I'm sure it's doable (if fiddly). I can't imagine the entire unit would require replacement.

The pictures also don't look like the OEM LED lights... probably explains the price

Ohh yea man...those are SOOOO OEM.....
