As the Pirelli's a Mk5, you're probably better off searching through that forum, and posting there if you can't find anything. But I've seen a number of Mk5s driving around here in SA with LED running lights, so they're obviously available.
I had a quick check of ECS Tuning; they have quite a few options available.
Thanks mate,
thats exactly what i was looking for.
Much appreciated
So I have just read thru the last 44 pages of this thread and am happy with the thought that when I take delivery of my GTI on Wednesday I would like to put the LEDs on it.
As the ADIDAS model has the LEDs is there a option of getting them here is Australia or is it still best to order them thru Ozram???
Also is there anyone who can do the coding on the Gold Coast????
I just spoke with a guy in spare part at VW liverpool in Sydney and he said the LED tails are $279 each, now I am not sure whether thats each light eg X4 or X2
food for thought though

Based on what's being charged elsewhere, I would expect that's the per part cost - and there are four lights in total (although I would have expected the outer tails to be slightly more expensive). There's also an adapter set required on top of that. You'd probably not see much change (if any) from $1,200 for parts alone.
does anyone know if the code boxes that are offered from TMTuning eliminate all faults that would appear without recoding once the Tails are installed? and regardless of what build & xenon/non xenon combination the car may be.

A user with an MY10 tried the box and it worked fine for them. However there've been no updates from members with newer cars who've tried.
Personally I'd save the coin and have a local help you code it up.
thanks AdamD.
yep i might just have to find someone once i get the car, playing with the coding - does it affect your warranty in any way? can VW tell that you have altered the factory coding?

It shouldn't affect your warranty, no, unless you make a mistake and cause faults (making coding changes can render modules unusable, which means the car may be undriveable in the worst case). Obviously you don't want to go changing random bytes in random controllers.
VW will know, by a process of deduction, that the coding has been changed if a) you have fitted LEDs and b) don't have bulb-out warnings.
They are standard on GTI adidas...which i have, and yes, it does fit. It is the exact same shape, just the inside (LED) is different. I dont think these will be standard on the GTI's..but hope they will...although i already have it on my adidas...looks good on GTI in white though
