Now that the Golf GTI Addidas comes standard with the LED tailights, the dealers should have the LEDs in stock and can retro fit it to GTIs I assume?

Yes the GTI Adidas do come standard with LEDs but take into account the following (as suggested/mentioned by other members):
- The GTI Adidas LEDs are the Euro Cherry Red upgrades, most probably not the tinted R Red LEDs.
- Your VW dealerships may not be 'encouraged' by VWA to carry out these conversions and therefor not obliged to do so (we think). So far I've only come across a TSI owner who successfully had his LEDs recoded by a VW dealership (installed by others).
- If yes to the above, then at what cost would they be charging for this conversion? Some members indicated a ball park figure of between $1100-1200+?
Only time will tell I guess, unless someone has had some recent experience.[MK6 GTI MY11 CW 3-door DSG Sunroof Detroits Dark Tint R LEDs APR Stage 1 (regrettably a few years late)]

Dealers will be unlikely to do this mod until VWA approves of it and provides them with instructions on how to make the necessary code changes. I've not seen anything thus far that indicates they're even considering it.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG

Hey guys,
I didnt really want to have to go through 31 pages to find out where everyone is getting their LED lights from.
I saw that some people are getting these code boxes for $50 with $20 shipping to code the car without having to plug a computer up to the car with that software that everyone is talking about.
Is there any chance that someone can please let me know where people have been getting them from? And maybe even update the 1st post with all the appropriate information for others to use?MK6 GTI 3 Door - Candy White - DSG - Sunroof - 18" Detroit - ACC - PA - RC - MDI - BT - RNS510.

Hey guys,
I ended up reading though all the posts and OZRAM seems to have some awesome contact that everyone is happy with (Ozram a PM has been sent your way from me).
I have a 2010 GTI and reading through the last post from AdamD regarding the recoding of 2010 Golfs and the following was said:
Build date: 2010+
Central Electrics Revision*: Beyond 0575
- Coding to be determined.
So does anyone have an update for the coding process for 2010 made golfs?
Also SOLISTICS has apparently used the TM Tuning code box and it has apparently worked fine. SOLISTICS are you able to confirm that you didnt have any issues with your Day Time Running Lights and alike?
Are you also able to confirm what year (month) your Golf was made? and also if you have Xenon's or Halogen lights?
Cheers.MK6 GTI 3 Door - Candy White - DSG - Sunroof - 18" Detroit - ACC - PA - RC - MDI - BT - RNS510.

so gents, am i wasting time ordering the LEDs if my car is not due to later on in the year?????(AdamD)
OR should i go ahead, order the LEDs and a codebox???
OR do i just wait till electrics module revision is determined for the MY11 GTi's????MY11/MkVI/GTI/DSG/XENONS/ACC/LEATHER/SILVER/DETROITS/BLUETOOTH/EURO PLATES......

The lights should be available indefinitely (although consider the exchange rate will change). No-one can guarantee that the existing coding will work for later-build cars (of course), so there's always some risk unless you wait till you have your car and scan it with VCDS first to determine your central electrics module revision. I personally think the likelihood of it not working is quite remote, but you need to weigh up the pros and cons.
Why bother with a codebox (and its possible limitations) when you can ask a friendly member with a VAG-COM to do the coding for you, for the price of a six-pack? I did, had a good chat with a fellow VAG enthusiast, and had a number of other features enabled at the same time.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG

Hi guys and girls. Recently, i juz bought a golf r led in Singapore and i juz realized that they r led doesn't come with rear fog lamp. My question is, as to my knowledge, my soon coming gti in Perth will come with a rear fog lamp as standard so if I'm to retrofit these tail lamps to my car, which I've juz bought in S'pore (without fog lamp), will that cause an error to my car?
Any advice will be appreciated. Thx u

Its not a bad thing. After all LED lights are an option on all Golfs overseas.
I suppose all the GTI owners getting the darker colored LED lights is annoying, but if you got the standard colour LED lights, they are the same as the LED's that are factory fitted options over in Europe.
I'm personally still debating which colour I get, but I'm leaning towards getting the standard colour over the darker tinted 'R' style LED's. After all no point having accessories on a GTI that are not what VW ever intended to have in the first place.
The way I see it, it's like a commodore owner fitting HSV brake lights to a SS. Most people would be none the wiser, but for those that do know... It looks abit silly. But that's the way I see it in my head...
On the other hand, they are justa different shade of red, what's the big deal?Last edited by sharkablue; 07-10-2010, 05:57 AM.MK6 GTI 3 Door - Candy White - DSG - Sunroof - 18" Detroit - ACC - PA - RC - MDI - BT - RNS510.
