Having installed the lights without a hitch, I have run in to an issue with coding.

Please see below for what comes up when I jump in to Byte 18. I don't appear to be able to amend the Binary.

You have a dropdown box there, with the binary values at far left. The option displayed in your screenshot is 00. Click the dropdown and select the relevant option - note that they're not all in order from memory.

Previous versions of the VCDS app used to allow you to type the bit value; now they've replaced it with a dropdown for simplicity.

I put them on the car, we couldn't code them so i took them off...So brand new.I never put them back on again..
Now sitting in the garage and i've lost interest...

So having installed and coded my new tail lights to 04 I can confirm that I am suffering the DRL problem (as per post number #268 in this thread).

So my car is running Central Electrics Revision 0615, which means I need to amend the coding 15.

My issue is that I don't have option 15 in the drop down box when coding, and I don't appear to be be able to manually change the binary to 00010101.

Can anyone advise how I go about making the change as per the above?

Please see below for an image of what I am seeing in Byte 18.

Can you click in the 18th box across on line 3 (the numbering goes 0,1,2,3...) and get a flashing cursor there?

Just backspace the ''04' that is in the box & type '15'

Been a while since I did one so getting a bit rusty

You should be able to scroll with the keyboard, and possibly also if you mouseover the last item in the list. I noticed this last time I used it... not very intuitive. 15 is right toward the bottom.

Thanks for your response AdamD, but I definitely can't make any changes to the 18th box (can change all the surrounding boxes, just not the 18th).

I ended up fiddling with the coding in line number 1. Amended the relevant figures to 15 and the drop down box went blank, coding was accepted and all issues resolved.

I coded someone's byte 18 a couple of weeks back, using the latest version of VCDS (11.11.3). Maybe your VCDS needs updating?

Just wanted to say I'm one more convert to the R LED taillights. Thanks go to OZRAM for his super quick response. I have ordered them today and will post more when they are fitted. This post is a bit like a date stamp. Will see how long it takes from order to drive. More to follow...

Today was the day. I had them installed and coded. Took just under an hour to fit and code. I am one happy chappy. Thanks to all for their help esp., OZRAM.

I'll post some decent pics later on. I took a few but they aren't that good. Bugger it, I'll try post one now.

If you want to edit your post, just type [IMG] before the URL and [*/IMG] at the end of it (without the *).
