They're supposedly OEM parts that have been treated with a dark coat. So the coding should be as per the R tails.

These are very expensive, and don't come with the required adapters. Not to mention the fact they're quite possibly too dark (and hence illegal).

Why would these be any different from the usual cherry LED's that few boys bought for themselves from over germany??? The main difference is that these are fogged. Adapters can be bought for extra $50 on the same site, spoke to the boys from a vw tuning shop and they've done a job like this before. As for it being illegal i couldn't care less as i see hoons going around with fogged lights all the time plus the amount of illegal window tints out there is phenomenal and thats what gets me.

I didn't say they would be. I said the coding should be the same.

Thanks for the concern AdamD i'll let you know if i do get defected and if i do the first thing thats gonna come to my mind will be your name lol I saw a few Audi's with fogged tails and it looked more classy then the usual wanna be cool type thing.

You could order the standard OEM R tails from Ozram's German dealership contact, including adapters and shipping, for around 520 Euros (from memory that's what I paid anyway). You could then take them to a local tinting specialist to have a film applied, which would allow you to choose a tint that exactly matches your preference, and remains legal. That's what I'd do personally.

By reading this thread, makes me chuffed to see all you guys going to so much effort and expense, when my Adidas came standard with the LED tail lights and the dynamic bi-xenons with LED DRL's...... Just sayin'.....lol

By so much trouble you mean screwing in four plastic lights, and spending all of 2 minutes coding to remove faults? Tons of effort there Tobes.

Hey AdamD i took some serious consideration in the Ozrams german contacts but have decided to go the initial pathway that i was looking at to begin with. Reason being that it means i gotta go to the tint place to get em tinted which is approx $85 plus then go get em coded and installed. It's mainly time saving for me thats all. I really appreciate the help thou, one of the best forums around.

Whilst the Adidas and it's interior weren't my initial preference, I do like that it's a little bit unique. The Golf interior is otherwise very plain (which is fine, I like subtle style too). It's a purely subjective thing so there's no point arguing about it because everyone will think differently, but I like the Adidas interior much better than the Pirelli. Tyre tracks on the seats? No thanks, not for me....

what's the best way to get in contact with ozram? do you send him a pm or just say something on this thread? I'm pretty new to all of this. I just very keen to get the LEDs for the GTI. any help will be greatly appreciated. Now i just need to work out which ones i should get... the clear or tinted leds. My car is reflex silver...
