What do LED lights offer other than low heat/power for footwell application ?

hmm surprised you ask.. it ties in all the red theme of lighting across the dash. Bit like your red monitor built into the vent. Merely aesthetics and cheaper than floor mats

As I said, I just coloured the existing lenses - same effect, no cost

I assumed people were spending money to get some other benefit

I'll take my coffee and not have to deal with all the sagas some of the guys have had with these LED's burning out, varying in brightness, losing dimming control ...

I plan to drive around at night with those on and all the exterior lights off so it looks like just an interior driving down the road

Well, I decided to see what all the fuss was about with the LED footwell lights so got the ones out of my box of bits I bought months ago and installed them.

Took about 10 minutes, not much holding the suckers in but they went in easy (I have the flat ones).

I had to then wipe off the red tint on the lenses I had applied.

They are OK I guess, had to turn the setting down to the lowest it would go. Easier on the eyes at night I guess.

Will see what I think after a week.
