What is your issue with the OEM plate holder? I think it works well if you have Euro plates fitted.MY11 Golf R - Rising Blue - 5DR - DSG - 19" Black OZ Ultralegerra - Leather - Sunroof - MDI - Euro Plates - Milltek Exhaust - Bluefin - SOLD

Do we have any R owners with the lakin plate holders yet? His site only has photos of the stock holder.
My car will come with normal slim lines but as soon as I can come up with something decent to spend $700 on for black euro's I will be doing that. Guessing I have to choose the right plate holder from day 1, though main concern is to make sure they don't put any extra holes in the bar fitting the slimlines on delivery.

I have both the front and rear Lakin Plate Bracket and Covers for my R. Just gotta wait to receive the R
And yes... just make sure they don't put any holes in your car! Ask them to fit the plates with doublesided tape or something if you are going to change later!

Then fit holders from lakin attach using the 4 factory holes when I change plates later?
You got any photos of what the lakin R ones look like?

You'll need to drill your own holes for the rear bracket as the Golf doesn't have any by default. However, the advantage of the Lakin Bracket at the rear is that the holes are "central" so that if the next owner (or even yourself) changes to a different style of plate, the holes still won't be visible as they'll be covered by even an old fashion plate.

If Corey_R doesnt come up with any I can take some photos for you as I too have the front & rear brackets from Phil @ Lakin. I'm waiting of my R too .... Impatiantly!
The front has 4 counter sunk holes that align with OEM bracket with the holder attaching too it. If I ever sell tha care without the prestige plates I have I can re-fit the OEM bracket & no additional holes in the bodywork (bumper).2015 MY15 Polo GTI 6C - Blue - DSG. SOLD

Spoke to Philip from Lakin who was quite helpful also. I'll grab the vic euro holders. get the dealer to fit them and attach the standard slimlines to the lakin brackets with double sided tape for now.
Only thing left to do is choose what euro plate combo I want and order it.... just can't think of anything other than my initials lol.

Hey Guys. I've taken photos of the Lakin Plates Kit and got them all ready to post. Since I've included the documents that are part of the packaging I just wanted to check with Philip that he's cool with me uploading them. I'll post them as soon as I've got the OK. There's 16 in total.
