        MK VI Wagon in OZ

Stumbled across this whilst dropping the Caddy of for a service. Has anyone else seen a MK VI wagon in OZ?

Six speed manual TSI, steel wheels, looked like a base model.

Do you recall if it was a 90TSI or 118TSI, or any badging to say which?

If it's consistent with the hatch configurations then going by the steel wheels and no chrome on the grill I'd say 90 TSI.

They are everywhere, and thats another one on top of the three I've seen. Over three days I saw a Silver and united grey one, and my mate spotted a black one and took me to show me.

Silver one was seen on sydney's northern beaches. Drove past me. United gry was driving the opposite direction when I was driving a bus around olympic park. Black one in an area i wasn't to familiar with.

                  Stoney!

I'm glad they're finally bringing this car to Australia. I think that this one is attractive enough that if marketted and priced correctly, it could have a decent impact to VW sales in Australia. And the upper model ones with a few options are awesome

Spotted 2 VI variants within 15 seconds of each other heading in same direction (west on unwins bridge road)- st peters- about 2 weeks ago.

Both looked like base models tho couldn't be sure.

Nothing to indicate engine size to me, It had a "GOLF" badge and a "TSI " badge.

The Variant is basically the Mk V variant with a facelift?

This is called the Golf Variant in Europe, and the Jetta sportwagon in America.
It is a MK5,with the MK6 front and dashboard.
It has been very popular worldwide, and might steal a few sales away locally from the Passat Variant...
