My issue is that my personal CD collection in MP3 is just over 64GB, so no chance of fitting on a single SDHC card and swapping cards is a pain
When I eventually get my R, I'll figure out whether I get a really large USB key for the MDI, or upgrade the HDD in the RNS 510.

How is the 'intergration' between the different storage spaces? Does the RNS 510 index what is plugged into the SD slot, MDI and on the HDD so that it's all in the one 'artist / album' list? Or do you have to access each area individually?

It doesn't appear to index. I haven't spent as much time as I should have getting my music collection sorted, but the interface gives you separate subheadings and folder lists for each device. The MDI is the most useful (with an iPod attached) because it gives albums, artists, playlists, etc - all categories available in the iPod. The HDD and the SD card only give you folders to view. Quite a bit more limiting, but I've found browsing through the collection is faster on the internal storage than MDI.

Thanks for that info MurphyTheElf. My music is properly organised anyway (MP3\Artist\Album\##-Track.mp3) so the internal HDD would probably be easy enough. However, I'm thinking the MDI is probably the easist for updating etc since DVD-R are so slow.
