[Golf Mark 6]

I come from a family of VW fans. My brother drives a VW Polo GTi and my Dad drives a Mk 5 Golf Gti. We live in Perth.

My old man received a black envelope with the code for the VW driving academy track day. He's currently away on holidays.

I wanted to surprise him with a trip to Melbourne/ Sydney for one of the track days, but I'm unsure how the whole thing works.

If I register him WITH the code does that give him an extra chance of actually receiving an invite?

Don't really want to go to the trouble of booking flighs/ accomodation if he misses out...

It is a lottery, but I reckon you will have a better chance with the code.

However there will be every hairdresser that has a GTI entering, so the odds are against you!

I've owned three generations of GTI now (1, 4 & 5) ... surely that should be enough to get me a look in.

Got an email about selected to participate in sydney track day, really surprised about this. I never owned VW before and didn't have the code, just entered my detail last week. Now i just have to fly myself there...

I had a code, Im a VIP VW customer (whatever that means :p), VWA are one of my clients, I own a MkV GTI, a MkII GTI and a Polo GTI and I didn't get in! what more do I have to do!!! Turns out I couldnt have gone anyway but sounds like it will be a fun day! Have fun guys!

When I said it depended on the car you drive, I think they would more likely choose someone who doesnt have a golf so they can get more sales. Also since it's a track day the type of car that you currently own might also help, anything fast maybe?

Your answer to the question would also help but I don't think it would matter much as this is more of a marketing thing to sell more gti's as hiring out EC for two days in syd costs a lot of money.
