Got 6.1L/100km in the GTI. That was with the A/C on and 31 degrees on a return journey from the Coast. Based on the MFD, my range was 850-860km.
Pretty awesome - I think that APR tune does make a difference.Current ride: 2014 Range Rover Evoque 5 Door TD4 Pure | 9 Spd Auto | Fuji White | Black Leather | 19 inch 'Dynamic' Wheels
Previous rides: MY11.5 Golf GTI 5 door | DSG | Candy White | 18' Detriots | Bluetooth | K&N Air Filter | Dancing Dials (Oh Yeah!)
| 1989 Porsche 944S2 Coupe| Guards Red| Leather| Sunroof| LSD

Well after 6 months and 15000km's my little 77TSI is now averaging about 5.4l/100kms 80% highway driving and I think that's about as good as it gets. I must say it's nice to get close to 900kms on a tank of petrol...
As an experiment I did 1 tank running at what I thought was optimal fuel efficiency speed of 100kms/hr on the highway and managed to get 5.2l/100kms but I hated being 10km/hr under the speed limit and gave up after 600kms... I felt like a grandpa...
Interesting to see the 118TSI does 5.5 with highway travel.VW GOLF MY11 77TSI (White)

Especially as 100 on the speedo is more likely to be around 92-3 km/hr.MY10 Golf 118tsi DSG | MY07 Polo GTI

I've never hit 800.. All my driving thus far has been city and the best I've got from a full tank was about 780 (light on, 0km range lol)..
I'd love to see the range from a full tank on the highway.. If I can even get close to 1000 I'd be over the moon!captain courteous enjoys vag

Put in 51.86l, what's the capacity of the mk6 gti again? I recall someone mentioning it's 47l and then reserve tank of 5l, so 52l2011 cw golf gti 3dr man-tint-rear cargo mat-weathershields-bluetooth-mdi-19" oz racing ultra leggera-mcgard lockbolts-boston acoustic pro60se-jl audio xd700/5-jl audio bass tube bb-w060p- titanium exhaust tips-eibach custom pro-kit-OPS-OSIR cf mirror covers and cf front lip-dieselgeek short shifter
