I've searched and there are plenty of threads on wheel offsets for different cars, but all specific to a particular wheel.
Happy to have this thread as a general "Golf R - wheel fitment" thread.
First up, I'm looking for some help.
I have some S3 wheels that I had on my old GTI.
I want to fit them to my R. I have a CW 3 door R with black 19" Talladegas.
GTI was on HPA SHS. Love how low it was (for looks, not the ride!)
S3 specs are 7.5J x 18H2 ET56
I have read that my 19" talla's are 8J x 19 ET50
Can anyone suggest whether I'll have any issues running these wheels?
Caliper rubbing?
I recently took delivery of a Mk6 GTi with the original 17" wheels and was surprised to find Bridgestone Turanza ER300 tyres fitted.
I was expecting to get either Bridgestone Potenza RE050 or Continental Sport Contact or Dunlop Sport Maxx, based on what I've seen on the road and read in these forums.
Has anyone else got Turanza ER300 or other similar "touring" tyres on the standard 17" rims with their GTi recently, instead of the "performance" tyres such as the ones I listed above?

I have Turanza ER300 tyres as well. Yeah, it was a bit of surprise.
Hi gtimal, where did you get the tires from? How much did you pay for them?
Hi cav
My cars novated so I just went through the local Bridgestone outlet ,i think they were $400 each plus aligment. They worked out better priced than the Mich SP3 .When the s001 wear out I might try the Mich next.
Done about 3K on the tyres so far all good .
Cheers

The price seems a bit steep, wonder how much the Goodyear Asym 2 costs.
