What are the pros and cons of a res delete, will it affect the cars performance, reliability and and place in sydney that will do a good job of it?

The server is being hammered again by crawlers, we are seeing tens of thousands of "users" online. Rather than give up and take the whole thing offline, I've switched it over so users must be logged in to even read the forum. I've also removed the ads completely once you're logged in since they are now basically worthless and annoying.
It's not ideal, but it keeps things online for now until I work out a better approach.

It will have zero effect on the cars performance or reliability, all it will do is make the exhaust tone a bit louder. I had a res delete on my GTI for a few months.
It a very simple procedure so in reality any exhaust shop could do it, but ive seen some hack jobs that look like a 3yr old blind child has welded it, and to think an exhaust shop is doing that level of woeful workmanship is quite incredible.
Refer link below, although this is on a Mk7 Golf, it should give you an idea of what to expect on your car.
