  • VI GTI problems

    Hi all

I have a 12.5 Gti that i bought brand new. Car has been great up until the start of the year.
I drive it sensibly, service every 10k and treat it well. I saved up for years to get this car to replace my IV Golf.

Since the car reached 47k i have had nothing but problems!
The fuel pump went at 47k
The water pump went at 55k
The intake manifold went at 60k
And now it seems the wheel bearings have gone at 63k

Has anyone else had similar problems? My extended warranty provider is now questioning and not wanting to approve repairs. I was so excited to have this car and now i ave no faith in it or VW. I want to upgrade to an R but also hesitant am i going to have these problems also.

Rear wheel bearing were common, if you've belted a gutter or pothole.

    Definitely not scalloped tyres?

Water pump leaks and inlet manifold issues are very common. Never heard of the wheel bearing issue, and only a few people with fuel pump issues.

Wheel bearings were a throwback to the MK5, which undernieth, is the same car.

I think I've replaced 4 all up on customers' cars in 10 years. All left rears.
