  • P0401 code every 100 miles

    Hi
It is a 1.6 FSI petrol BLP engine.
Replaced the EGR valve with a Siemens EGR valve. Cleared error code. Tested OK.
Drive the car and after about 100 miles the code is generated again.
Cleared the code and later it is generated again.
    Any ideas?

Have you confirmed wiring is good?

      Hi
      Thanks for the quick reply.
No is the answer. The car mileage is not high, so I assumed the wires will be OK.
But, how would a longish run be connected to the wiring ?

The car needs to go through a drive cycle.

If the values aren't correct, it will log a code.

EGR valve opens and closes at certain times, how do you know it's working correctly @ the correct times if you haven't checked wiring? Just because the code relates to the valve, does not mean the valve is faulty, this is called poor diagnosis. Have you even confirmed correct function of the other parts of the EGR system?
