Hey fellow dubbers,
I was fortunate enough to get an iphone a few weeks ago. A mate of mine "Runamuk" told me about some software for the iphone which uses GPS to measure 0-100, 1/4 mile times etc. It's fantastic. http://www.dynolicious.com/
Managed to get the GTI DSG to record a 6.7 for the 0-60mph sprint, so still just under 7 for the the 0-100. Air temp was cold 10 degrees. That was my best time using launch control where I got the least amount of wheelspin....which in itself is hard to control with a heavy size 13 boot.sigpic

Yeah, the brains trust is back, I actually refused to put chips in my car the other day, because they leave a lingering, oily stink. I did a 4.5sc 0-100 evading those chips, and that's definately without a chip........Originally posted by Golf Houso View Post6.5 to 5.4 with a 25hp chip

Also they leave a lingering tyre around the gut

It seems the Golf's don't have very reliable data to show exactly what 0-100km times are with chips on various models? Alot seems to be just manufacturer figures and claimed power... just saying this because some of the 0-100km with just a chip seem abit much...

6.5s ??? LMAO Im not talking about a MKIVOriginally posted by Golf Houso View Post6.5 to 5.4 with a 25hp chip

VW states - 6.2s - UNDERRATED
Actual stock time is 5.8
w DMS + a panel performance filter brings kw to 200 = 5.4s time.
and we can actually use this power as we have AWD

here is another one just to prove its not fluke - different R32
VW did not compensate for the opening up of the Vr6 after a few thousand miles. This is all stock too !! no software !!Last edited by Guest; 21-08-2008, 11:08 AM.

Take a look at the Oettinger website. They seem to quote more realistic figures. Bascially with a chip alone you should be able to shave off about 0.5 seconds (I can vouch for that ith my before and after testing). With a few extra mods (intake & exhaust) you might shave off an extra 0.5 seconds. This applies whether it's a Polo or a Golf. 2 seconds off with just a chip - tell him he's dreamin!Originally posted by airofu View PostSo a chipped Golf GTi from a stock 0-100km at 6.9sec is down to about 6 seconds 0-100km with a chip?
Polo GTI stock 0-100km 8.2seconds with chip down to 6.2seconds aswell?

Its an NA vehicle gains are minimal at best, and turbocharged vehicles are quite different as you already should know considering you own oneOriginally posted by gerhard View PostYeah, the brains trust is back, I actually refused to put chips in my car the other day, because they leave a lingering, oily stink. I'm not denying the car is capable of 6.2 or even 5.8 to 100. but 6.2 is on a good day with a perfect launch and favorable conditions you'd be lucky to break 7 under normal everyday circumstances, the R32 is a great car but its no mod monster unfortunately...80,000km 1997 MK3 VR6 manual for sale - www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/f23/80-000km-1997-manual-vr6-nsw-sydney-67658.html
