After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Yeah, I quickly fell from my purist values in the first post, but having a bit of service knowledge and a few chats with my VW service guys, I realise "bolt on's" are a lot less frowned upon that messing with the car's brain, so to speak.
