  • Nice little surprise

I happened to put something in the boot this arvo for my wife to take home from work and there was a almost full bottle of authenitc VW windscreen washer fluid.

The wife thought i had bought it but no. The dealership must have left there when it was in 3 weeks ago for it's 45k service. Not sure if it was a mistake or done intentionally. Not charged on my detailed invoice so!

Every time I have gone in to buy a bottle they have always been out of stock so had either been given asachet or bought a couple for $2 each. Won't have to worry now for a long time

    Cheers,

There is various brands of fluid available from AutoBarn and the like, I have some random blue liquid which works quite well. No clue what brand it is, but I got it from AutoBarn.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

You really should return it to the dealer ... hahahahahhahahahabwahhhahahahbwahhahaha .. you lukcy B#$tard .. its probably the only "free" thing you'll get from the dealers in your car's life time. Once used put it in your trophy cabinet!

You should use the proper VW liquid as the jets can be clogged by other additives and this isn't covered under warranty.

They have problems in the UK (and other cold places) where if you use the incorrect fluid the pipes can freeze and burst in the hatch if you use the non genuine stuff as well and this isn't covered under warranty.

There is a TSB out covering this.

I found that the Rainex washer additive is awesome to use.

I don't think a bottle of windscreen washer fluid will send the dealership bankrupt !!! and as PhilMart said earlier it's probably about the only freebie you'll see for along time !!

I was given a bottle for the 15k service, and they seemed quite proud to announce that it was a complementary bottle!
