new windscreen

hi all,
the unthinkable happened the other week my windscreen got a small chip/crack in it. what i was wondering was if anyone in sydney know of a place i can get it replaced i rang my local o'briens and they wouldnt do it because of the rain sensor??? any help would be appreciated

I had one done on my R32 a few weeks ago, and it turned out so well I can't find the original damage.

sign up for windscreen insurance its about 50$ a year and you dont have to pay an excess when you claim it. wait 2 months and hten make the claim, just put one of htose stickers over the crack to stop it spreading in the meantime. thats what i would do at least if i didnt have windscreen cover.

Wouldn't that be fraudulent?

I wouldn't go near this suggested solution.

why is everyone so scared in these forums....

be prepared to pay for the windscreen sensor which is bout $400 from memory plus windscreen.

you can get original windscreens from tintacar (melbourne) who buy direct from vw window supplier.

personally i think the vw glass is ****. i got dints in mine from stone chips.
