Window Tint - WA

I am not going to pay the exorbitant fee the dealership wants me to (because they will provide a warranty for the labour at their nominated tinter) - which means, if the apprentice f*cks up...VW will go over and right the wrong.

Now...I have been in to see Trent (TKO Window Tinting - Vic Park)...top bloke, has done work for me before, but admits that this will be the first 2008 R32 that he will have tackled. We are happy with the tint that he is recommending , however....what have the rest of you done? Especially the 2008 model GTI's, R32's. Who did it, how much, (% tint if you are happy to tell me via the forum...otherwise PM me), and are you happy with the work, any issues with door panel fitment, electrics etc etc.

Trent has given us a killer price...but it's not all about saving $20.00 here or there. I want peace of mind, not a piece of a car left over.

Def Go at least 35% (Which is the darkest legal tint you can get)

However 22% looks alot better, but is harder to see out the windows at night.

i got my windows tinted with trent as well, did a great job, 21 or 22% cant remember - 07 GTi 3dr - i was his first 3dr gti of that shape - so we were riding on reputation. Just go with it...he will do good stuff

Yeah, had Trent do my Mar08 GTI 5 door with desert smoke II 22%. Awesome job and great value. He's done all my family cars, all my mates cars. Anything from a 300C to a Z4.

I had 25% fitted to the TR GT.

It looks awesome during the day and night and I must admit that I have not noticed ANY problems at night in comparison to the Jetta which has 35%. The only thing is the stupid single Reverse light in the VW.... But that is not the fault of the tint.

to the original poster: no need to take off any trims except the rear hatch trim.
