Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • DSG Clutch wear check

    Hey guys,

For some reason I have it in my head that you can actually check the clutch wear of a DSG box using VCDS? It could just be that I am off with the fairies but I feel like i've seen this mentioned somewhere? Does anyone on here know if this is possible?

If not, has anyone got some good general tips for doing a check over a DSG box - i.e. things to try when running like reversing up hills etc? Mine seems fine but I am nearing 200,000 clicks and would be good to give it a check over. Serviced it at around 185,000!

Its a 6 speed on an 07 GTI running stage 2!

    Cheers all

I believe you can at least measure the relative clutch fork travel.

Update: block 10 does not show these numbers on vagcom. Gav and I had a good scroll through but couldn't find anything obviously relating to the dsg clutch
