  • Genuine Front MK5 Wind Deflectors Installation Question

    Hi guys

I purchased a pair of second hand Genuine Volkswagen MK5 4-dr front wind deflectors and have a question regarding installation. I'm unsure if the original seller bought these new, however he advised me that he installed them using double-sided tape, and stuck them on the outside.

Now I've gone off and bought some 3M tape, and was looking at fitment this morning before I install them over the weekend; and noticed that they slot in perfectly into the window channels and if I were to stick them on the outer they won't from my perspective be a perfect fit.

Deflectors are identical to the below, advise would be fantastic. Thanks!

As far as I can recall, the genuine ones stick to the outside.

You'll need to clean the surface with alcohol, and use an adhesive primer.

And no, they were never a perfect fit.

Correct. Mine were fitted by the dealer before I took delivery.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.
