Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Ok interesting. I might come round one weekend and we could have a squizz at it?

Getting much closer but I drove the car with the exact setup I was after and was kinda underwhelmed. But the CSC2's were so **** and really limited how the car felt.

Thinking I will just get a rear bar and all the bushes/ALK/Bumper steer kit to tighten it all up to start. Then save up for some V2s?

          • Nice!

I hope the tape I gave you does what it says it would.

They almost looked painted in that picture.

            • I have a strong suspicion that it will require re-doing in the not too distant future, but I am happy enough for now. The main reason is I cheated and did not install the runner underneath as I had no patience, not a A1 job and I am not proud of that, but It all got too much. I did buy some OEM clips that are under the car to secure them and it is quite rigid currently.

The gloss is the plastic rejuvenator stuff, definitely makes it less grey than it was before.

$11 I'll never get back. Don't know what I expected though.

                          • Had Mikinoz adjust my DG short shifter.

A lot less nothy now with the side to side setup properly. Tons smoother into 2nd and 3rd.

                            Thanks Mick!

                              • I got some AWE Tuning aluminium pedals off Lucas and fitted them on the weekend.

After removing the stock pedals, I was surprised at how **** they actually are LOL. Don't even think they are real aluminium as they are marketed to be. The brake pedal just pulls off and is held onto the lever via from rubber nubs that slot into some holes. Accelerator is a bit of a tricky one and requires patience.

The new pedals are much grippier and after driving today after walking in the rain, i could definately notice the increased grip. I also think they look a heap nicer than the standard R pedals.

So far they are only temporarily mounted via some super strength double sided tape as I didnt want to drill into anything.
