Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    I changed the exhaust down to "stock" 2.25" - straight through all the way with 2 mufflers and the sound is pretty amazing compared to this dodgy 3" that was on the car when I got it. No drone and quiet in cabin with a deep rumble on acceleration.

    And... I finally cleaned up the frosted headlights with the Meguiars Headlight repair kit that I've been putting off doing for aaaaages.

      I started to change my cams today for the shrick 272s that have been sitting around too long. Everything is pulled apart at this point with the new cams fitted. Will be a good time to get the front bumper adjusted when it goes back on.

        It is gonna be exacting day tomorow
        My car gti is getting tarmac intercooler, bsc pcv revamp, vw racing air intake, new R8 coil set with new NFL spark plugs, new coils connecter and red colour coils cable harness, smoked mirror turn signal cover and 10 mm. Wheel spacers
        I ll post some picture after installations

              SPM Downpipe in

              Had a great weekend in Toowoomba and installed the SPM Downpipe from Dub Addiction.
              The hoist I had arranged fell through, so had to do it the good ol'fashion way on the driveway with jack stands.
              It was a dead easy bolt on. No issues what so ever. Took the car to Harding Performance for the ECU upgrade this morning.

              Stock DP out of the way...so much room!

              Getting the first section up and in.


              Looking good. Was aligned well, without flipping the sub frame mounting point.


              Top sensor in. Used a new gasket from Dub Addiction too.


              Mid pipe in with sensor fitted. V bands nice and tight. Well made unit.


              Mates up to the stock exhaust nicely.


              Tim from Dub-Addiction was prompt sending the DP and gave good advice. I will be deffinatly getting my Intercooler and HPFP from him. Great products and service. The noise from the pipe isn't really noticable until I really push it. No drone. Love the DSG burp.

                            Bought VCDS micro-can and BHS pcv revamp kit the other day from DUB ADDICTION (Thx Tim). Installed it and the fuel pump cam follower today. PCV install was easy but cam follower was a bitch. Cleared all the codes.......Done.

                            Cam follower condition after 108000km.
