              Always been FOR leather...

But... in a GTI it seems a bit plain.. in a MK5 anyways.. Still a tough call.
Interlargos in a MK5 might just win for me..

Interlargos in MK6 is just so sexy and wins hands down IMHO.

Like others have said, the cloth is sportier in an GTI and breaks up the cabin a little, bit less boring to look at. But in a non GTI... Leather for sure.

From another angle- I've heard that leather is the ONLY option if you have frequently vomiting (probably if in gti) children...

Cloth for me, i test drove a leather GTI and kept making fart noises when you move around.

Nearly every car produced has the option of leather, thought i would try something different and stand out from the normal crowd having scottish heritage in the family, tartan suits me to a tea. (waits for some grilling)

Leather FTW. Looks, wears and feels better. Smells great after some Zaino conditioner.

                        Leather FTW!

I went to see both interiors on similar year GTI's. The cloth interior didn't have the classy feel the leather GTI had.

The cloth looked dirty and the owner said he just cleaned the car.

Also with leather, well mine anyway, still smells like a new car.

But summer time is a killer, as the last 2 days have been 42 degrees here in Perth. Getting into the car after work and sitting on the leather was torture.

Guess there's pros and cons for both.

Good tint and a full fitting sunshade help (but those are about 150$ for the covercraft ones!).

Doubt many people would actually steam clean cloth so don't sniff it.

                            Yes we do.

I allowed myself leather because I saved on the transmission. The heating is fantastic but the light leather needs more cleaning.

I would not have got leather if I was expecting small children.

My seats never burn (unless I crank the heating up to full ). It could be due to the light colour or window tint or both.

Beige also makes the interior feel more spacious, IMHO.

I live in Western Sydney and I dont see the need for heated seats.

Actually, if you have leather it gets very cold overnight in winter and you really need the heating.

                                Cloth doesn't get so cold.
